Floor Sanding & Finishing with Loba Water Base

This new house under construction in the Brisbane suburb of Sherwood had new secret nailed Blackbutt flooring and Blackbutt stairs laid throughout the entire house. Blackbutt flooring is a blonde colored hardwood and a popular choice as it has a lighter tone of color. However, when the blonde colored hardwood is finished with a polyurethane timber floor finish, the lighter pale tone of the timber is gradually lost to a yellow/orange color as the polyurethane yellows with age. This is a result of UV light affecting the polyurethane timber floor finish.

Sanding & Polishing of a old Church Hall

Budget Floor Sanding Brisbane was recently engaged to undertake the floor sanding and polishing of the timber floors of a historic old church. Once the restored timber floors have been completed, the old church will be used as a wedding chapel. The photos show the rustic old Queensland Hoop Pine flooring that had never been floor sanded before, and the restored timber floor after sanding and polishing with three coats in a polyurethane satin finish. The owners of the church wanted a hard-wearing finish that had an older looking soft sheen appearance, so the satin polyurethane was chosen as it best fit these criteria. Satin timber floor finishes are the perfect floor coating for old timber floors as they do not tend to highlight imperfections that old wooden floors accumulate over time.

Floor Sanding and Staining a Hardwood Timber Floor

Floor sanding this Brisbane Morningside home required the previously sanded and polished Jarrah hardwood timber flooring to be stripped back. The home had recently been purchased by an interstate family who disliked the red colored Jarrah timber floor, preferring instead a dark Walnut color which may be described as a Hampton’s look.
